Sultan Kosen, "The tallest man in the world"

Sultan Kosen (Dedeköy, Turkey, December 10, 1982) is officially the tallest man in the world, having been crowned as such at the launch in London of the Guinness Book of Records 2010. Their predesecor was the farmer Mongol Xi Shun . Currently measured 2.51 m. [1] has a back problem so it can not fully straighten.

Kosen grew up like any other child until age ten, when a tumor in the pituitary gland caused a condition known as "pituitary gigantism" that of control its growth.


A Galatasaray coach found him in a small village on the border between Turkey and Iraq. It measured 2.42 m (7 ft 11 in). Kosen wanted to make professional basketball player with the club Galatasaray until a back injury forced him to retire.
